Since being founded in 1992, Technology Vision Group LLC has been at the forefront of lifescience business innovation, with clients in over 30 countries. For over a decade we have been developing innovative methods to help lifescience and associated technology companies in the fields of IT, medical devices, and healthcare services, to attract partners and investors, to acquire new products and technologies, and to achieve a variety of other strategic goals.Soon after forming the company, we were asked by the U.S. Commercial Service to produce a conference in London to help American biotechnology companies to establish relationships in Europe. At that time, most biotechnology companies were located on the west and east coast of the United States, and in western Europe. This project brief grew into what has become known as the BioPartnering Europe conference which has been held annually in London since 1993, and is now established as a leading global business development and networking event for lifescience business executives. In 1998 we launched BioPartnering Asia, together with the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) in Tokyo, Japan, and produced the event again in 1999, with a follow-on event in Taiwan. In 2001, the event was expanded to include the Asia-Pacific region and was held in Honolulu, Hawaii. The BioPartnering franchise expanded in 2003 with the production of BioPartnering North America in Vancouver. During this time, biotechnology has become an important part of the global economy.During the 1990s, a new healthcare paradigm was being created through the convergence of four sets of new technologies: biotech, electronics, computers, and telecommunications. We launched the first C21 BioVentures conference in California’s Napa Valley in 1999 which has been followed by Santa Barbara (2000), Monterey Bay (2001), San Diego (2002), Monterey (2003), and San Diego in 2004. Together with BayBio and BIOCOM, we are developing C21 BioVentures as a leading California-based issues-driven event that explores the technology trends driving lifescience investing. The European version of this meeting, EC21 BioVentures was first held in London in 2000, followed by Munich in 2002 and 2003. In 2004, EC21 BioVentures will return to London.
