Description

The Florida Collegiate Summer League (Florida League) would like to invite you and your team to represent Tennessee in the 3rd Annual Florida High School Invitational (FHSI). The FHSI is a national high school tournament, certified by the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) and the National Federation of State High School Association (NFHS). This tournament is professionally operated and runs for three weeks during the months of March and April between March 21 and April 9, with 16 slots open for each week. The games are played at Historic Sanford Memorial Stadium in Sanford, FL, which is one of the finest facilities in Central Florida. Your team is guaranteed 4 games, with one off-day built in for your group to enjoy the local area attractions (Disney, Universal Studios, and many of our beautiful east coast beaches - all less than an hour commute). The Florida Collegiate Summer League (FCSL) is a 501.c.3 non-profit organization established in 2003 that allows college players to hone their skills during the summer while using wooden bats. It is also an opportunity for players to showcase their skills in front of professional scouts and college recruiters while playing at a highly competitive level of baseball. In only seven seasons, the Florida League has been the home to over 125 players who were selected in the MLB Amateur Draft and has attracted excellent coaches, such as Frank Viola (87 WS MVP, 88 Cy Young Award) and Davey Johnson, who has enjoyed the pleasure of winning a World Series Title as a player with the Baltimore Orioles (66',70') and as the manager of the 1986 New York Mets. Each year, Baseball America recognizes the Florida League as one of the most prestigious college summer leagues in the nation and we strive to improve each year so that we may continue to receive such recognition. Being a non-profit organization, one of our biggest obstacles is raising funds to support our league in such a troubled economy. Two of our biggest fundraisers in the off-season is our Celebrity Golf Tournament and the FHSI - National Spring Break Tournament. By participating the the FHSI, you will not only give your players the opportunity to play against excellent competition from schools in Florida and around the nation, but you will be supporting a non-profit organization that provides college players a competitive summer baseball league to play in each year. In addition, the Florida League has many connections with professional scouts and college recruiters, which gives all of your players an opportunity to gain exposure that they would not be able to obtain elsewhere.
