Description

The Pipeline Safety Improvement Act of 2002 requires pipelines to develop and follow a written integrity management program. The Department of Transportation's Office of Pipeline Safety has adopted regulations prescribing requirements for gas integrity management programs. Ensuring the integrity of gas pipeline systems is the primary goal of this act. Our Integrity Management Program has been developed to assist us in providing safe and reliable natural gas transportation services without adversely affecting the public, our customers, our employees and the environment.

Texas Gas’ storage complex is located in the heart of its market area. The complex consists of 9 storage fields, with total working gas capacity of 72.2 Bcf and the ability to withdraw 1.22 Bcf/d. Texas Gas uses most of this storage to provide the operational flexibility of the no-notice customers under Rate Schedules NNS and SGT, but also offers storage capacity on a firm and interruptible basis as stand-alone services. Transportation to and from the storage complex must be contracted for separately.

The U.S. Department of Labor s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) provides regulations to assure we provide a safe workplace for our personnel.

Texas Gas was created in 1948 with the merger of Memphis Natural Gas Company and Kentucky Natural Gas Corporation. Since that time, Texas Gas changed ownership four times. The company was bought by CSX Corp. in 1983; by Transco Energy Corp. in 1989; by Williams in 1995; and by Loews Corporation in 2003.
