Locations Served: The Ancora String Quartet is based in Madison, and is available to play at churches, homes and businesses in the following cities and towns: Belleville, Cambridge, Cottage Grove, Cross Plains, DeForest, Fitchburg, Madison, McFarland, Middleton, Mt. Horeb, New Glarus, Oregon, Stoughton, Sun Prairie, Verona and Waunakee. Musical Selections: The Ancora String Quartet offers an extensive repertoire of music for weddings, commitments and receptions. Our selections range in style from baroque composers such as Bach and Handel, to classical composers such as Mozart and Haydn, to romantic composers such as Beethoven and Brahms. We also play lighter music such as Strauss waltzes, and more contemporary selections by composers such as Cream and The Indigo Girls. Special Requests: Perhaps you have a unique musical selection in mind? If a string quartet arrangement of the piece exists, we can get it. If not, our own arranger can make your request a reality. Soloists: We maintain professional relationships with other musicians in town. If you would like a singer or an instrumentalist such as a flute or trumpet player to join our quartet for one or more selections, we can recommend talented, experienced musicians with whom we have worked successfully in the past. Consultation: How to make sense of all these choices? If you already have a clear idea of what you want, we will simply take note. If not, we offer complimentary music consultation to help customize our performance in accordance with your vision of the event in question. If you are planning a wedding, our demo CD consists of 41 sample selections for you to choose from. Our music consultant will work with you to get a clear picture of the mood and style of your dream wedding, and help you sort through our repertoire to choose the ideal sequence of selections to harmonize with the rest of your wedding choices.
