Description
The Bay Institute's mission is to protect, restore and inspire conservation of San Francisco Bay and its watershed from the Sierra to the sea. The Bay Institute was founded in 1981 by pioneers of a new advocacy approach — one that viewed the entire Bay-Delta ecosystem as a single, interdependent watershed.
The Coast and Ocean Program at The Bay Institute and Aquarium of the Bay focuses on the part of the Estuary that is farthest down stream (Lower Bay), the coast, and the ocean. This program is helping to fulfill our mission to protect, restore and inspire conservation of San Francisco Bay from the Sierra to the Sea.
