It was the 1960's and Ben Salerno Sr. decided that the retail bicycle business looked inviting. This was the birth of "The Bike Shop". The Salernos operated The Bike Shop until 1980. At this time Jack Christy purchased the shop. In 1981 Christy moved The Bike Shop from its original location across the street from Del Campo High School to its present location on San Juan Ave.
