Our mission is to provide the highest quality automotive service and support for our customers and their cars, and to do so in an honest, ethical manner. We will charge fees that are fair for the customer while allowing for a fair profit for the company. As a result, we will strive to build a loyal, repeat customer base that will ensure our ability to stay in business to serve the needs of our customers.

Billy started working with The Garage in 2012 to help keep our shop clean for the technicians and lobby straight for our customers. We brought Billy on full time in 2013 to continue our effort to have a clean shop as well as to be a mechanic’s helper and oil change technician. Whenever you see Billy he is sure to have a smile on his face. He has a very gregarious personality and always sees the good in every situation. Billy and his wife have been in Birmingham for many years and enjoy spending time with their family.

The Garage is a full-service maintenance and repair shop. We do not sell/mount tires and we do not rebuild transmissions; we do replace them. But we do virtually everything else. It’s also a place where you can still experience old-fashioned service in a high tech world; we promise!

Richard Roberts founded The Garage in 2005 because he simply wanted a shop that he would feel comfortable sending his wife, sister, or mother too; a true old fashioned garage that could be trusted in the community. Richard grew up right here in Birmingham where he started and ran a successful computer software business in our city for over 20 years until he sold it in 2002. He is an active member at Shades Mountain Independent Church in bluff park. Richard and his wife Sandra have three grown children and 5 grandchildren. They enjoy RV’ing and spending time with their grandkids.

Our history with The Garage goes back about 5 years. Our experience covers both of my son's cars as they began to drive and also mine and my wife's vehicles. It is reassuring to know that I can trust the condition of the cars my family is driving knowing that The Garage took care of the maintenance on them. The Garage not only has provided the highest quality of workmanship but a level of honesty and integrity I can count on. Never once have I been concerned that they would recommend a service that wasn't necessary or that the charge for the work required would be unfair.
