ReSound is one of the world's largest hearing aid manufacturers, and it has a long history of helping people regain their hearing. It is part of the GN ReSound Group, which also includes the brands Beltone and Interton. The company is headquartered in Ballerup, Denmark and has a strong presence around the world, with offices in more than 25 countries, distributors in 80 countries and more than 3,000 employees around the world.

AARP, or formerly known as the American Association of Retired Persons, is a valuable resource for Americans age 50 or older. The foundation works with local organizations to support the group of individuals who face a variety of choices and pressures each day. AARP increases awareness of issues that low-income adults face and strives to provide long-term solutions.

In 1996, GN Danavox marked a new milestone by forming a strategic alliance with ReSound, which was a growing company with the world's first digital hearing aids based on software. ReSound was founded in 1984 by Rodney Perkins, and it acquired Austrian-based company Viennatone in 1994.

Bernafon has gone by several names, yet its commitment to helping the world hear more clearly has always remained the same. Before Bernafon, there was Gfeller AG - an electromechanical device company founded in Flamatt, Switzerland, in 1924. In Switzerland in 1946, Gfellar AG introduced the first hearing assistance device that regular people could buy. The company continued to grow into the hearing aid market in the region for the next 40 years. In 1986, Gfellar AG seized on its first international opportunity - the purchase of well-established hearing technology company Maico, Inc., in Minneapolis. Later that year, the company merged with Autophon and became part of the Ascom Group as Ascom Audiosys AG.
