Jim ’s editorial background includes: Five years as Co-Editor of Turkey & Turkey Hunting magazine followed by serving as the publication ’s Editor-at-Large, a position he currently holds; Editor-at-Large for Sporting Classics; masthead positions with many magazines over the years (these currently include Mossy Oak ’s Hunting the Country, Tennessee Valley Outdoors, Predator Xtreme, and Sporting Clays); Editor of two ongoing book series (the Firearms Classics Series from Palladium Press and the Outdoor Tennessee Series from the University of Tennessee Press); Editor of a number of primers for Realtree Outdoors; researcher and ghost writer for NRA: An American Legend; member of Editorial Advisory committee for the Premier Collection (published by Premier Press, this was a series of reprints, with new Introductions, of great sporting books) and the African Collection (published by Briar Patch Press, this was a series of 24 reprints of great African hunting books); and contributor of forewords or introductions to more than 50 books. Jim has been the editor and compiler of a number of well-respected anthologies including four collections of the work of Archibald Rutledge, The Lost Classics of Jack O ’Connor, The Lost Classics of Robert Ruark, The Best of Horatio Bigelow, a two-volume set of the writings of Fred Selous, and the award-winning Forgotten Tales and Vanished Trails (a collection of the lost outdoor writings of Theodore Roosevelt). He has also handled all editorial duties for a number of books written by other authors. These include Wayne Bailey ’s Wayne ’s Turkey World: Sixty Years of Hunting, Michael Marks ’ Neil Cost: Magic with Wood, David Hoffman ’s The Great Buck Caper, Aaron Pass , Realtree ’s Turkey Hunting Fieldbook, and others.
