Description

HGI ’s original and most popular service is our independent and objective Insurance Audits. These audits reveal whether or not exposures or gaps in coverage exist and highlight, from an objective standpoint, how to close such gaps or underinsurance. Over-insurance or duplications in coverage are also examined. Another popular service is our Bid Design and Request for Proposal (RFP) process. Many insureds do not know how to competitively purchase insurance on an apples to apples basis. HGI has performed this task thousands of times and understands what should be contained in the formal written specifications in a very controlled atmosphere. Once bids are received, HGI analyzes each proposal to determine which proposal provides the broadest coverage for the lowest price. An impartial recommendation is made to the client. While your broker or agent can “shop ” your insurance, we believe a more effective way to obtain proper insurance is through the utilization of the incumbent agent as well as other competing agents, creating a truly competitive environment. In addition, while most agents represent a number of companies, most have their “favorite. ” As such, the client may only be exposed to a small part of the overall market. HGI was established in 1982 to serve as advisors to the State Of Maryland under the then State Comptroller Harry James. The project duration was two years and encompassed virtually all of the state ’s assets, many of which were very dynamic. Such assets were also very dynamic. These included BWI International Airport, the Port Authority, the University of Maryland, State Police, and even the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Authority. From those early days HGI has provided extensive advisory services to a wide range of industries as our clients , each posing a unique challenge from an insurance and risk management standpoint. We have estimated that overall historical savings to our clients exceed 30 million dollars on clients with overall annual premiums in excess of 200 million dollars. However, no organization, is too small to have gaps in coverage. While on average, our clients overall Property & Casualty annual premiums range from $100,000 to $500,000, we have also provided expertise to organizations whose annual premiums were less than $25,000 with the same positive outcome. “HGI assures its clients that each and every insurance policy purchased will address all exposures to loss at pricing that is competitive and fair. ”
