Description
MCG worked with the worldâ??s second largest producer of primary aluminum and the predominant global producer of value-added engineered products and composites to show how sustainability policies can be implemented in its operations in Cameroon and Ghana.
January 2013: US Green Building Council (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and other market forces are driving increased interest in environmentally friendly construction materials and products. To demonstrate the environmental benefits of their products and provide customers with information needed for building certification, manufacturers are increasingly undertaking Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) of key products. MCG recently supported GAF , Americaâ??s largest manufacturer of roofing products, with an LCA for select thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofing products. TPO is a â??low slopeâ? roofing product typically used in commercial roofing and combines durability and ease of installation. MCG evaluated seven TPO product variations in the EverGuardâ?¢ and EverGuard Extremeâ?¢ product families. MCG summarized the LCA results in an environmental product declaration which was certified and published by the standard-setting organization NSF International.
