Description
My son had one of the best experiences of his life at The Musical Offering…. He does things his own way, learns somewhat differently.... You should know that he sits at the piano now and works on things…. More importantly, he learned about music from you. Your operation at The MO is so unique and a gift to our community. Musical Offering parent The Musical Offering offers a wide range of music instruction including strings, woodwinds, piano, voice, Irish music, chamber music, composition, and comprehensive music for pre-schoolers, designed to teach students ear-training, theory, and general musicianship skills. The Musical Offering’s faculty are highly trained and active performers as well as skilled teachers. They perform with such ensembles as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Chamber Musicians, Bella Voce, Chicago a capella, and Music of the Baroque. The MO seeks to enrich students’ lives with music in many ways. Students have gone on to major in music at Lawrence Conservatory of Music, Northwestern University, and The Royal College of Music in London. Some are members of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra. One has received a Fulbright scholarship to study Hindustani music in India and another won the composition prize at Ravinia. Others are simply enjoying music more and attending more concerts (with and without their parents) in the Chicago area.
