Description

Diane, a native of West Bloomfield, Michigan, has made her home in the “Redlands ” of South Florida. There she has found true happiness living amongst the natural beauty of her “Jungle Outpost ”. While growing up, Diane had a talent for drawing, but never went into art as a profession because her interest in science prevailed. She went on to graduate the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Following a 2 year research position at the U of M, Diane began a long career with a top biomedical corporation located in South Florida. As hard work typically pays off, Diane has retired from the corporate life and now pursues her interest in art with a passion. Working in watercolor, Diane loves to paint tropical scenes such as those found at Fairchild Tropical Garden in Miami, Florida. The mixture of foliage and rustic charm is the most intriguing for her. These efforts have permitted Diane to garner many awards and accolades for her paintings. Continued creativity calls for focused urgency. Diane participates in a number of open air art festivals every year. Including the well known “St. Stephen ’s Arts & Crafts Festival ” in February adjacent to the famous Coconut Grove Arts Festival. Additionally, Diane is an active member of the Miami Watercolor Society. As a past Vice President, and current 2nd VP of Workshops, she volunteers to support their biannual Exhibitions. Most importantly, Diane has the support of a phenomenal and extremely understanding man, her husband Todd. Together they have 3 wonderful children, Elizabeth, Curtis and Brittney who support and encourage her to create and promote her art. Diane ’s exceptional family, as well as the “Jungle Outpost ”, continue to inspire her to follow her dreams, and her paint brush. View my Awards and Achievements
