Description
Nannette M. Oatley, MA, NCC, CPC, is a differently abled mental health professional, inspirational speaker, wheelchair tennis athlete, former radio talk-show host, wife, and crazed mother of three teenagers. For over 20 years, Nannette's life has been a living testimony to the power of resilience. She was a former gymnast, dance choreographer, and amateur actress until a broken neck altered her life in 1982. In a moment of time, she was left a sit-down person in a stand-up world. As an inspirational speaker, Nannette addresses audiences on "Resilient Responses for Abundant Living"and is writing her forthcoming book, Resilience, Magic, and Miracles.
The Motorola research confirms what psychologist Richard Lazarus and others have been finding for over 40 years. People who become emotionally upset about difficulties, blame others for their feelings, and dwell on their unhappy feelings are the least resilient and have more illnesses.
Our goal is to provide a quarterly publication with contributions mainly from our group of international Certified Resiliency Facilitators ("Resilitators") on resiliency related topics, events, book reviews, and other relevant resources. The intent is to provide the latest from around the world on resiliency-related information and make it available to all. We welcome your comments and submissions and look forward to this collaboration.
Resiliency can't be taught, but it can be learned. It comes from working to develop your unique combination of inborn abilities.
