THE SAGAL STOCK PICKS FOR AUGUST 2010 "Quite simply, the best stock picks page on the internet." This list, updated monthly, is provided for the purpose of building an aggressive (but balanced) stock portfolio. Return expectations are high, which automatically means that risk IS high. The numbers in the "Analysts Rating" column is an actual concensus rating by professional stock analysts, and represents the order in which individual stocks might be acquired. (1.0 is a strong buy; 2.0 is a buy; 3.0 is a hold; 4.0 is a sell; and 5.0 is a strong sell.) Pale green Analyst Rating boxes indicate that the stock has been upgraded since last month. Pale red (OK, pink) boxes indicate a downgrade since last month. Upgrades or downgrades of a quarter of a point or more are indicated by a darker shade of green or red. Upgrades or downgrades of a half point or more are indicated by a very dark green or red. The numbers in the "Sagal Rating" column are my personal ratings, and represent the order in which individual stocks might be acquired by me. (80% and above is a strong buy; 70% and above, but less than 80%, is a buy; 60% and above, but less than 70%, is a hold or "buy-on-the-dip"; below 60% is a sell; and below 50% is a strong sell.) A green Sagal Rating box indicates a strong buy; pale green indicates a buy; pale yellow indicates a hold; pale red indicate a sell; and red indicates a strong sell. In times of dangerous market conditions, stocks rated lower than 70% will not even be listed. Items marked New are new buys for this month, but have been in the portfolio before, whereas items marked NEW! are brand new (as far as appearing on this list is concerned). Stocks with names in yellow boxes are UNANIMOUSLY rated a buy or strong buy by the analysts covering that stock; there are no dissenting holds or sells. EVERYTHING HERE IS A MATTER OF OPINION, based on independent research /analysis. Absolutely no one (except you) (and especially me) is responsible should any of the stocks listed here, or the tech market or the financial market, or the market in general suffer a decline, or pull a 1929.
