Description
For the record, I love 1911 pistols. (They would not have lasted 100 years if John Moses Browning didn’t get it right the fist time.) However, they are not safe. Not safe for the shooter, not safe for anyone around the muzzle at the wrong time. Before the Series 80 safeties, the old S70 models had serious problems. Hence the change and upgrade. There are numerous reasons most police agencies WILL NOT allow them for on-duty or off-duty carry because there is too much liability. They are always cocked and ready to drop off the sear and fire. (In our classes, we’ve had some drop and go full-auto on us...) But any pro who has run those professionally for defense or competition will tell you the same thing. They only work when they are totally broken in, perfectly clean, and only lightly oiled, but not if it is too hot or too cold. XD are worse. They are always cocked, the firing pin is always back (that is why you can see it sticking out the back of the gun) and they have serious issues. XD pistols were a failed attempt to breed a totally whacked out hybrid of a 1911 and a Glock.
NAGR was founded in 2001 as a 501(C)4 civil rights advocacy organization designed to educate gun owners about state and federal legislation that affects their gun rights. NAGR assists the growing movement of state-level grassroots gun rights organizations, as well as organizing grassroots lobbying on state and federal legislation. Purpose: As an advocacy group, our purpose is to educate gun owners and gun rights’ supporters on gun rights issues both at the local and federal level. To that end, on average we spend 88% of our annual budget on communications with gun owners and our members regarding the issues at hand; and during the 2010 year, that percentage has actually increased to 94%. Our accomplishments: On the federal level, areas in which NAGR has led the charge include the fight against the UN Small Arms Treaty and the derailment of H.R.45 (which has largely been defeated due to the groundswell response from members). On the local level, NAGR has assisted various grassroots state organizations in everything from helping form the group to professional and financial assistance.
We provide an entire spectrum of firearm education and training. From taking time here in our store to show you how different firearms work (their advantages and disadvantages, their suitability for self-defense and/or recreation, their cost and quality) to offering a full line of public and private firearms safety and personal defense classes that include: Introduction, Basic, Concealed Weapon Permit, and Advanced Tactical and Defensive Handgun, Rifle, and Shotgun courses. We even have shooter-preparation classes for IDPA, Action Pistol, and 3-Gun Competitions. We also offer Glock and AR-15 Armorers courses and other classes in basic handgun, shotgun, and rifle takedown, disassembly, service, and repair.
This process consists of 3 pages. (But we will do almost ALL of it for you!) The Form IV consists of 1 page, completed in duplicate. When approved, the ATF keeps one copy on file for their records and mails back the second copy, (to you, but through us) signed, with the Tax Paid Stamp. This will then be your “permit.” The other form is the Certification of Compliance Form. This certifies that you are a U.S. Citizen.
Our customer service is why everyone recommends us. We patiently and politely listen to your needs and wishes, and then help select the training and equipment that best suits your needs. Buying a firearm involves great amounts of time, money, and responsibility and we want to help you make the best choice for you and your family. Our customers return to us again and again because of our friendly service, our vast experience, and because we make the process simple.
