ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA—Thermal Solutions-Ohio, Incorporated, headquartered in Proctorville, Ohio, is proud to announce it is a winner of the National Insulation Association’s (NIA) 2005 Theodore H. Brodie Distinguished Safety Award. The winners were announced on Saturday, March 25, 2006, at NIA’s 51st Annual Convention in San Antonio, Texas. This is the third consecutive year for the company to win in the small category. The safety award honors top companies that, by taking proactive steps to implement safe working practices, have established outstanding safety records. The nominees are judged based on the results of their companies’ safety programs and the results they have achieved as measured by their injury rates and experience modification rate data. Companies that apply for the award must complete a written application, including a brief safety statement and a copy of their latest U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) 300A form. John Stevens, President, and Mark Artrip, COO of Thermal Solutions-Ohio, Incorporated, accepted an award plaque on behalf of the company, at the awards ceremony held at NIA’s convention, presented by 2005-6 NIA President Gerald Scott. Thermal Solutions-Ohio, Incorporated will also receive public acknowledgement in NIA's trade publication Insulation Outlook, NIA's member newsletter NIA News and through the NIA website, www.insulation.org. Thermal Solutions-Ohio, Incorporated provides asbestos and lead abatement, industrial and commercial insulation, and fireproofing services. The safety award is named in honor of Theodore H. Brodie, former NIA president and long-time active member, who has helped to create a greater awareness of the need for safe working conditions. Brodie's contributions since first chairing the association's Health and Safety Committee in 1967 include work on asbestos issues and participation in the OSHA rule-making process on synthetic vitreous fibers. Brodie is the president and CEO of New England Insulation Company, Incorporated, located in Canton, Massachusetts.
