Description

As most of you know we recently celebrated our 30 - 20 - 10 Anniversary. Ronald Thomas began working as a salesman for The Singer Sewing Machine Company early in his life. In Nov. 1979 Singer offered to sell the dealership that was located on 16th street. Thus began Thomas Sewing Center as an independent dealer in Ashland. (That's 30 years) In 1989 Ron retired. His sister, Minnie Leibee and his son, Richard Thomas became co-owners. (That's 20 years) On March 1st, 1999, was the grand Opening in our current location in Greenup. (That's 10 years) Thomas Sewing Center sells and services sewing machines, does machine quilting, as well as providing community service for the Tri-State area. The owners keep themselves and their employees up to date on the latest sewing technology in order to provide the best customer service possible. During the week of the Sale, customers could register for prizes, with the drawing held on Saturday, March 7. Sue and Russell Branham, of Mom's Cotton Shop (next door), provided the congratulatory sign. Ron Thomas and his wife Joyce, joined in the celebration. Barbara, employee at TSC surprized them with a cake. Marlene Stewart (former employee, and Richard's sister) and Nate Hill came to offer their congratulations. Last minute registrations--(Sure hope I win!!!) A.J. Reed. Since Nate can't read, he got to do the drawings. And the winners are: TV, is Geneva Gillum; Janome 720 sewing machine, Kay Walker; Embroidery collection with thread, Mary Ball.
