Description
In 1952, Stanadyne entered and revolutionized the Diesel Fuel Injection market with the introduction of the first rotary distributor diesel fuel injection pump. Today, Stanadyne is known around the world as a leading supplier of diesel fuel systems and components. In addition Stanadyne is quickly becoming an industry leader in the fast growing field of Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI). Our products are for engine applications in agriculture, construction, power generation, industrial, marine, and on-highway vehicles.
For over 35 years, Thompson Diesel, Inc. has strived to provide a service above and beyond our customers' expectations. We are continually upgrading our products and service and keeping our people well trained and equipped. One of our goals is to meet the challenge of an ever-changing field of technology and to be a team open to new ideas and continuous improvement that will ensure quality for the future.
Effectively July 1, 2005 Bosch K.K. merged with Bosch Automotive Systems Corp. and was renamed to Bosch Corporation. We are confident that the merger will make it possible to provide our customers with better customer-oriented services and state-of-the-art technologies, while generating further synergy effects through effective utilization of the business resources.
The heart of the diesel engine is its fuel injection equipment and the major enemy of this equipment is poor quality diesel fuel. From our extensive research and testing and our experience in manufacturing diesel fuel injection systems, Stanadyne found that variations in diesel fuel quality around the world can adversely affect today's precision fuel injection systems. Poor quality diesel fuel can cause performance issues, premature wear, gumming of components, and plugged filters.
Thompson Diesel was founded in 1970 in Oklahoma City by brothers Raymond and James Thompson. Our Tulsa facility opened in 1973. Raymond Thompson retired in 1992. James Thompson retired from the fuel injection business in 2011 but still remains active in Thompson Equipment & Tools, refurbishing used test stand equipment.
