Description
Heritage Ed Tiffey has served as a trusted legal advisor for over twenty years. A native of Washington, D.C., he is a graduate of Gonzaga High School in the nation ’s capitol, Dickinson College, and the Washington and Lee University School of Law in 1990, where he was a member of the National Moot Court Team as a second year student. Upon graduation, Ed assumed his first trusted legal advisor role to the Honorable Elizabeth V. Hallanan of the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. His two-year clerkship provided critical exposure to motion practice, civil trials, and criminal trials, all of which provided a lasting hands-on career experience. Thereafter, Ed joined Flaherty Sensabaugh & Bonasso in 1992 where he successfully defended physicians, hospitals, individuals, and businesses in a variety of litigation matters. Along the way he served successfully as a special prosecutor in a first-degree murder case and as liaison counsel to physicians in West Virginia ’s diet drug litigation. After four years as an associate and two years as a partner, Ed accepted an invitation to serve as General Counsel to the Governor. This once in a legal career experience brought him to the role of trusted legal advisor to West Virginia ’s chief executive, in addition to his service as liaison to the Legislature, state and federal agencies, and the private sector. Following two years of service, Ed then opened his own law practice in 2001. Given his prior experiences, Ed serves as a trusted legal advisor to every client, whether an individual or a business, in which he calls on his prior government service and years of legal experience to provide the highest level of service. There are 55 counties in West Virginia from Barbour through Wyoming.
