Description

Since our inception, we have grown to become one of the most well-respected coating manufacturers for the wood siding market, with a full line of wood care products. Many of our early supporters - the true log home craftsmen - have since become some of the largest log home companies in North America, and remain faithful clients. Internationally known architects are specifying Timber Pro UV products for landmark projects such as high-end resorts and universities. We have continued to refine our products over the years, and far ahead of our closest competitors who are just now bringing their "green" finishes to the log and wood siding world.

“We have had nothing but awesome experiences dealing with your company and product and look forward to future work with this wonderful company. My husband has been in the log home industry for more than 27 years and he cannot rave enough about Timber Pro UV.

After being nominated by industry experts, our log home finish and exterior wood stain finish took the 1st place award in a national contest, the 2008 Green Log Home and Lifestyle Award . We won due to 100s of votes by our peers and customers — the best endorsement ever. If you are searching for a log cabin stain, a transparent wood finish for easy cedar siding care and maintenance, or just hoping to do your own log finishing, or restoration, your search ends here. Timber Pro’s Log & Siding Formula will deliver superior wood protection for all types of exterior wood siding such as cedar, fir, pine, redwood, cypress, teak, mahogany and more. Pioneers in the development of environmentally safe wood finishes, Timber Pro Coatings has been creating safe and effective wood care products for over 13 years.

At Timber Pro, we don’t condone issuing general statements such as “our products are low VOC and compliant in all states” because it’s vague and doesn’t provide the facts consumers need to make informed decisions. It is our opinion that Low VOC (volatile organic compounds or fumes) should be 150 grams per litre minus water or less, because we know its possible to make high quality durable products at that low level. Some coating companies make it extremely difficult to find out what the actual VOC level is, but we make this information front and center on all our products which range from zero VOC to 143 grams per litre minus water. Until terms such as “green” , “sustainable”, “non toxic” or “environmentally safe” have legislation to govern their use, consumers must have access to the critical information they need. We challenge all other coating companies to make this VOC information easy for consumers to access.

Good question! Many coatings companies claim their products to be "enviro-safe" when they are not - it's a marketing ploy. Get the facts by requesting a Material Safety Data Sheet on a product. This lists the hazardous ingredients and the percentage of each. Most wood stains average from 50-85% hazardous ingredients, especially the flammable or combustible ones. Timber Pro UV wood finishes are oil-based yet water-borne, and contain no flammable solvents. Our hazardous materials only make less than 2% of our product, an industry low. At 2%, even most chemically sensitive people have no problem using our product. Remember, it is more than just VOC's (odorous fumes) that contribute to the safety of a product, look at the percentage of hazardous ingredients as well. Some hazardous ingredients have little smell and don't contribute to VOCs. If we could make a product with 0% hazardous ingredients we would do so, but the technology isn't there yet. If a product contained nothing hazardous it most likely would never dry and cure and would be a food source for mold and mildew which it toxic in itself.
