The Blade’s Labor/Management Safety Committee has been around since the early 1980s and still meets monthly with the Company. This committee is made up of 13 union members representing all the different departments of The Blade. Members bring an active voice to the table regarding safety problems and concerns. Whether they are large or small, we feel that all items on our agenda are important. We work with the Company to solve such issues as an aisle that needs to be cleared of old furniture to provide a safe exit for exit safety to mailroom carts that don’t steer properly. Our goal is to make sure safety issues are brought to the Company's attention promptly so they can be resolved. We work hard along with The Blade to maintain a safe working environment. Why? Because “Everyone's Safety Is Our Concern.”
