Description
St. George is located inside a U.S. Disaster Safety Zone which makes Tonaquint Business Park an ideal location for a data center. In 2002 investors saw an increased demand for data center infrastructure in the southern Utah region. As investors and industry experts began researching potential data center locations, they had several requirements including; favorable climate conditions, power, network capabilities, topography with ideal seismic conditions and room for several future expansions. Their answer was to create a state-of-the-art data center with an accompanying telecom business park that would support and assist the growth in the southern Utah region. All parties agreed that St. George which is located in a U.S. Disaster Safe Zone would be the ideal location and in 2003 planning began on the Tonaquint Data Center.
