Toole Design Group announces the opening of their new office in Boston. This new office expands upon Toole Design Group's current success and growing body of work in the Boston area. Heading up the firm's presence in New England is Nick Jackson, a Boston-area native with over 10 years of experience in planning and designing sustainable transportation systems. Nick was formerly the Deputy Director of the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation, a not-for-profit organization that provides professional consulting assistance to cities throughout the U.S. "Boston was a logical expansion for us due to our growing number of projects throughout the area, including the Bike Network Plan as well as Boston's Complete Streets Policy," said Jennifer Toole, President. "We are proud to open our office under the leadership of Nick Jackson, and we look forward to serving communities in New England with on-the-ground expertise in bicycle and pedestrian planning and design, traffic calming, streetscape design, and transit accessibility for years to come." Nick is a regular bike commuter - you will now find his bike parked outside of: 33 Broad Street - Suite 405 Boston, MA 02109 Toole Design Group (TDG) is proud to have been selected by the City of Boston to develop a Bicycle Network Plan that will become a blueprint for the physical transformations necessary to make bicycling a viable transportation option for all of Boston's residents and visitors. This Plan will build on the momentum generated by the Mayor, City staff and local advocates who are committed to making Boston a world-class bicycling city. The Plan has several components, including a comprehensive analysis of City streets as well as on-call engineering services to design new urban bikeways throughout the City. Toole Design Group staff are also assisting the City with a variety of policy issues related to bicycling. The Plan will be completed in early 2010.
