In 2005, Trade Press launched Hope Chest — a charitable giving committee led by a different voluntary group of employees each year. To date the Hope Chest committee has distributed company funds to nearly one hundred 501(c)3 charitable organizations.

After guiding the company for more than three decades, Robert H. Apple sells the family business to two Trade Press Publishing executives and an equity investor.
