TransGov Consulting is dedicated to working with our government and private sector clients to achieve successful and sustainable solutions in Transportation Security and Productivity. In order to enable and create this vast network of linkages, modern logistics practices have evolved from a “static” inventory to a “rolling” inventory which is dependent on predicable velocity for sustainability. This evolutionary shift from "manufacture-to-supply" or inventory-based logistics ("push" logistics) to "manufacture-to-order" or replenishment-based logistics ("pull" logistics), has revolutionized transportation and supply chain logistics which is now more dependent than ever on more flexible, reliable, on-time service. However, dramatically increasing freight flows have created congestion in the transportation system, imposing increased and often unanticipated costs on shippers, consumers, and the environment. These factors combined with system unpredictability and security risks jeopardize a company’s ability to effectively and successfully compete in today’s or tomorrow’s marketplace. We believe in proactively identifying and addressing a company’s emerging transportation and supply chain needs which will lead to building effective strategic partnerships between all the stakeholders in that supply chain. We place a particular emphasis on identifying and resolving specific process or infrastructure obstacles that inhibit intermodal transportation in order to improve mobility through a more efficient, secure, safer, and better-integrated system offering more connections and choices.
