Transport Service Co. ("TSC") was founded in Chicago, Illinois in 1946 by John V. Crowe, II to transport fuel oil in the Midwest. The opportunity to provide fuel oil transportation services in the Midwest arose during World War II. Historically, fuel oil was transported throughout the United States via tank cars on the nation's railroad system. However, during the war, the rail system's tank cars were dedicated to carrying oil to the coasts to fuel the war effort.

The Company's fleet of 1400 trailers consists of late model trailers designed to maximize efficiency and reliability. TSC's fleet of trailers covers a range of designs and are often specialized to meet the needs of customers. Chemical utilizes a wide range of specialized trailers which are equipped to meet specific customer needs including trailers which maintain certain temperatures through the use of a heat exchanger as well as multi-compartment trailers.

Our commitment is to provide the highest degree of quality service and exceed our customers requirements. One effective method that has differentiated our services has been to focus on the quality of our service and provide a high level of customer attention.

Transport Service Co.'s Food Grade Division provides tank truck carrier services for manufacturers of food products. With over 40 years kosher food experience, Transport Service Co. offers a variety of liquid and dry food grade equipment. The Food Division employs union free company drivers, and operates one of the youngest company owned fleets in the industry today with over 300 tractors and 400 trailers with mounted stainless steel pumps enclosed in stainless steel cabinets .

The success of TSC safety programs are evidenced by accident rates which are significantly below the averages for both the trucking industry in general as well as for tank truck carriers. TSC has limited its DOT recordable accident rate to approximately 0.6 per 1.0 million miles or below for over 30 years.
