Description

The MID is a highly trained group consisting of a Chief Inspector, 3 Senior Inspectors and 9 Field Inspectors. The MID was established to provide a wide variety of services to external and internal customers. Direction for services are provided by AAR Safety and Operations Division to provide timely and effective inspection services for member railroads, private car owners, contract repair facilities, and short line railroads. Our group provides current and past information on inspections, repairs and compliance to rules to follow trend lines in relative performance to the railroad industry.

TTCI is a world-class transportation research and testing organization, providing emerging technology solutions for the railway industry throughout North America and the world. Full-scale, hands-on training for emergency responders (Hazmat) has been a specialty of TTCI's since 1985. Our experience in rail equipment testing and our close relationship with the freight and passenger rail industries are fundamental assets to the mission of emergency preparedness. Over 40,000 students from the rail, chemical, and public emergency response industries have taken their training at TTCI's Security and Emergency Response Training Center. More than 80 railcars, intermodal, and highway transportation vehicles and containers are used to provide highly realistic training scenarios.

Mr. Irani is in charge of all commercial business development activities at TTCI. He works with the rest of the senior management team to exceed customer satisfaction by providing timely, effective, and quality services.

TTCI’s Train Air Brake Research Facility consists of 150 complete car sets of air brake equipment. Operated independently of the air brake manufacturers, the test rack is used purely for research. Capable of simulating a diverse range of train types and lengths, these simulations are used to analyze ways to improve the current air brake system. In addition, this facility plays a vital role in the development of new and advanced braking systems. The control room contains a computerized data collection system and the locomotive brake valve.
