Transtech was founded in Plymouth, Minnesota and incorporated in 1987, by Mark McAlister. From a newly built handicapped facility located in Medina , Minnesota , Transtech designed and distributed communications and assistive-technology solutions for full function and special needs individuals. These communications-oriented products assisted many individuals who were hearing and sight impaired. In 2004, Transtech expanded its business into the durable medical equipment and insurance marketplace specializing in mobility assistive equipment including high rehab power wheelchairs, power scooters, manual wheelchairs, patient lifts, electric hospital beds, and other mobility and home health care products. In 2005, Transtech became a registered Medicare and Medicaid provider supporting these same products and services.
