The “Giotto” Image generation of Mammography is manufactured by Internazionale Medico Scientifica of Italy. IMS is a dedicated mammography manufacturer. It is all they do. They have been in business for 40 years. The business began with general x-ray and was transformed into mammography as a specialty eleven years ago with the invention of the tilting circular gantry concept. Since then the growth of the Company has expanded throughout the world, even though it is relatively new to the U.S. market. IMS has sold over 1600 of the latest generation “Giotto Image” Mammography Systems through their international network of distributors. Of those 1600 System 600 of them are Combination Mammography / Prone / Upright Stereotactic Systems.
