Trimark Physicians Group, in conjunction with its affiliated hospitals, offers a full array of Family Practice services throughout northwest central Iowa and offers several regional specialty clinics. Allergy, Dermatology, Family Practice, Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Nephrology, Neurology, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Occupational Medicine, Orthopaedic, Pediatrics, Podiatry, Pulmonology, Rheumatology, General and Vascular Surgery and Urology make up the specialized services provided.Trimark provides the professional component of institutional services including acute and sub-acute care for common medical problems and non-tertiary care for selected specialty problems. In most of its service area, this is complemented by Trinity Health System, a senior affiliate of the Iowa Health System, which provides acute care inpatient services through direct ownership of Trinity Regional Hospital, a licensed 200-bed facility in Fort Dodge and through management contracts with four rural Iowa hospitals in Clarion, Humboldt, Pocahontas and Sac City. In some locations, acute care inpatient services are provided by institutions that are not part of Trinity Health Systems.Organized in 1989, a group of rural physicians approached officials of Trinity Regional Hospital (Fort Dodge, Iowa) for assistance in the management of their practices and the recruitment of physicians. In response, the hospital worked with its parent organization, Trinity Health Systems (THS) to develop Physician Practice Management Corporation (PPMC), a wholly-owned, for-profit subsidiary of THS to assist the physicians. In March 1998, PPMC changed its name to Trimark Physicians Group.
