TML ’s Cytopathology department is the most progressive in the region. TML acquired the new FDA-approved CYTYC Imager system, the first Imaging-Directed Cytology system of its kind. It combines revolutionary screening technology with human interpretive expertise to provide increased screening productivity but most important of all -- improved diagnostic performance. TML is the first and only laboratory in the State of Oklahoma to bring this new and exciting system into routine Cytopathology practice. Click here for more information. TML has also implemented in-house molecular testing which includes HPV high-risk reflex testing directly from the ThinPrep vial (which we have been routinely testing since the fall of 2002). TML utilizes only FDA-approved assays for both HPV Reflex Testing and Chlamydia/Gonorrhea testing. Our Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAATs) platform for testing of Chlamydia/Gonorrhea is also from the ThinPrep vial. All molecular testing is performed by our highly qualified Cytotechnologists, many of whom hold advanced certifications in the Specialty field of Cytotechnology and International Academy of Cytology certifications.
