Tyonek Native Corporation (Tyonek) is an Alaska Native Corporation formed under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971 (ANCSA). Tyonek is governed by a Board of nine (9) Directors and management staff, who are accountable to a community of nearly 800 shareholders. Tyonek is the parent company to a variety of subsidiary businesses including ISO 9000 Certified defense manufacturing and engineering, aircraft maintenance, information technology services, construction, and oilfield support services. Tyonek Native Corporation's Lands Division also develops land and resources.
The Village of Tyonek is located 40 air miles southwest of Alaska’s largest City, Anchorage. Of approximately 800 shareholders, 130 of whom currently live in the Village. 450 live in the Anchorage and Kenai area. The rest are out of state. The Corporation manages over 190,000 acres of land, primarily on the West side of Cook Inlet in South Central Alaska.
Tyonek Manufacturing Group, Inc. has just been named "Supplier of the Year-Small Business" by Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation. Commended for their support on manufacturing helicopter relay panels, the TMGI Madison, Alabama site manufactures and assembles the relay panels for commercial and military helicopters. The award presentation recognizes TMGI as a critical supplier in providing cost savings on Multi-Year 8 award and a 100% on-time delivery 120 relay panels per month for the past nineteenth months.
