Local 51 is a member of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United States and Canada. We were formed a short time ago from the consolidation of four locals from Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts.In the beginning we were varying groups of members, unknown to most of our contractors, and to many of the owners and end-users we desperately needed to be successful.Today, we are the fastest growing trade union in the region, our membership enjoys full employment, and Local 51 is a recognized force in the labor community.
