This not-for-profit organization manages the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification. This advanced-level certification is meant for IT security professionals with the following level of experience: a minimum of four years of PROFESSIONAL experience in the field of information security. A bachelor's degree can substitute for one of these required years.

(ISC)2 requires exam candidates to have a minimum of five years of relevant work experience in two or more of the ten domains, four years of work experience with an applicable college degree, or a credential from the (ISC)2-approved list.
