The award is the highest honor for innovation in dental curing lights. The panel that selects the “Best of Class” winners consists of seven dentists with significant knowledge of and experience in dental technology, including Dr. Shuman; John Flucke, DDS, writer, speaker and technology editor for Dental Products Report; Paul Feuerstein, DMD, writer, speaker and technology editor for Dental Economics; Titus Schleyer, DMD, PhD, associate professor and director of the Center for Dental Informatics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine; Marty Jablow, DMD, technology writer and consultant for Dr.

Neil Jessop began working in research at Ultradent in 1992. From 1998–2002, he had the unique opportunity to work in the biomaterials research lab at Loma Linda University where he was involved in testing and evaluating products from many different manufacturers. During this time, Neil became keenly aware of the difficulties and challenges associated with R&D in all companies. Upon returning to Ultradent in 2002, Neil became the head of R&D. Since then, he has been an integral part in creating the strongest and most durable adhesives in dentistry.
