Description

Jason Brammer is a an internationally-collected visual artist and painter based in Chicago, IL. Jason ’s paintings are created with acrylic paint, transparent glazes, plasters, resins, and other media, using a combination of airbrushing and traditional brush painting techniques. Over the years, his paintings have been inspired by industrial urban landscapes, graffiti, patterns in nature, Eastern art traditions, music, and spiritual iconography. Jason ’s current artwork experiments with “photo-surrealism ” and includes the sculptural, mixed media pieces from his “Time Machines ” series as well as works on paper. Jason was born in Lancaster, Ohio in 1974 and grew up primarily in Indianapolis, Indiana. His art education includes studies at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia and at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Jason currently resides in Chicago ’s Logan Square neighborhood with his wife, Erin, and two cats. He spends much of his time creating artwork in his Ukrainian Village studio, and participates in numerous exhibitions and art events. At many art venues and events, such as “Cocktails and Clay ” at the Hyde Park Art Center, 4Art Incorporated Gallery, and the Gold Coast Art Fair, he has been known to captivate crowds by painting live, and has been honored with awards such as “Best of Painting ” at the Wells Street Art Festival in 2008. In addition to paintings, Jason enjoys designing and creating installations and murals. He has created mixed media, painting installations for art exhibitions as well as permanent site-specific installations for commercial spaces. He also does large-scale custom murals for residential clients and businesses.
