REQUIREMENTS TO JOIN USA NORTH CALIFORNIA LAW 4216.1 Every operator of a subsurface installation, except the Department of Transportation, shall become a member of, participate in, and share in the costs of, a regional notification center, (USA North). - "Operator" means any person, corporation, partnership, business trust, public agency, or other entity which owns, operates, or maintains a subsurface installation. For purposes of Section 4216.1 an "operator" does not include an owner of real property where subsurface facilities are exclusively located if they are used exclusively to furnish services on that property and the subsurface facilities are under the operation and control of that owner. - "Subsurface installation" means any underground pipeline, conduit, duct, wire, or other structure, except nonpressurized sewer lines, nonpressurized storm drains, or other nonpressurized drain lines. NEVADA LAW 455.120 An operator shall join an association for operators (USA North) to receive the notification required pursuant to paragraph (a) of subsection 1 of NRS 455.10 for its members. - "Operator" means any person who owns, operates or maintains a subsurface installation. The term does not include the Department of Transportation. - "Subsurface installation" means a pipeline, conduit, cable, duct, wire, sewer line, storm drain, other drain line or other structure that is located underground. USA NORTH ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP COST Rate I - Cable TV, Electric, Gas, Pipeline, & Telecom Facilities $.894 per mile of underground sheath, circuit, or pipeline facilities (Main line facilities and product lines) x 12 months. -Rural telephone or electric companies with less than 300 access lines will pay $150.00 annually. Rate II - Cities, Counties, School Districts, and Parks (Fire Alarm, Internal Telecom, Sewer, Street Lights, Traffic Signals, & Water Facilities Only) Rate III - Irrigation, Sanitation, or Water Facilities (Water or Sanitation Only) NOTE: -Minimum Annual Cost for Rate I, II, and III is $150.00. -Sanitation and Water companies may select Rate II or Rate III. If Rate II is selected, the total number of commercial and residential hookups for all facilities will be multiplied by 2.64 to determine their population figure.
