Description

Sonya has more than 20 years of experience in property management. This includes work with tax credit, conventional, project based section 8, and public housing. Sonya is a certified public housing manager, and is also certified assisted housing manager. Sonya has significant experience in returning troubled properties to profitability. She is also well versed in marketing and has added properties throughout the Southeast. In her role with UPM Sonya helps managers market their properties, is our lead for handling any properties with vacancy issues, and serves as our lead trainer.

Kaylen holds a degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, as well as a cosmetology license. She has a strong history of customer service, working with the YMCA for more than eight years, and has experience working with a safe house for girls. Kaylen’s primary duties relate to data entry. She is serves as our coordinator for supportive services.

Melissa joined United Property Management in 2001. She has 14 years of direct experience in LIHTC management. Melissa also has eight years of experience with LIHTC compliance, much of which is at the corporate and oversight level. She holds the TACC’s Low Income Tax Credit Compliance certification and regularly attends Tax Credit and Fair Housing training workshops to continue her education.

We are a family in the truest sense. Our organization covers the waterfront from development to construction, management, and maintenance. We focus primarily on tax credit affordable housing, although our great reputation in the industry allows us to expand to other areas as time and resources allow. In all things we strive to work with integrity and deliver the highest quality product allowed by our resources.

Billy is originally from Waynesville, North Carolina. He has worked in and around government at all levels, including working with the NC Speaker of the House. Billy also spent several years at the North Carolina Rural Economic Development Center, working directly with many rural business and government leaders across the state, and served as that organization’s legislative and federal liaison. Billy holds a bachelor’s degree in criminology from NC State University and continues to work on a Master of Public Administration.
