USE Credit Union was established in 1936 as California State Credit Union #17, with the primary goal of helping employees of the San Diego branch of the Division of Highways. In the 1970s, the Credit Union became known as University & State Employees Credit Union, reflecting USE's expanded legacy of serving the financial needs of university and state employees. And in 1999, when our charter expanded again to include members of the community at large, we began using the shortened "USE" acronym in most of our business dealings.

USE Credit Union is a different kind of financial institution. We provide all the services you might expect from a bank, but we’re not a bank. You won’t find customers here, but you’ll find members who value being treated like they own the place (because they do). We’re a modern-day financial cooperative whose members - mostly California university and state employees – have come together to enjoy a more rewarding experience.

When you choose to list your computer as PUBLIC, you will need to provide your User ID, password and you will be prompted to provide your One-Time Passcode (OTP) each time you log into your account. We recommend this setting when logging in from a library or school computer. I am being prompted to enter the one-time passcode every time I login, even though I have indicated that the computer I'm using is "Private" and have selected to not be prompted for the code.
