Unix Mages started in the summer of 2005 with the purpose of teaching Unix and Linux by using stories of wizards, mages, magic, and spells. The biggest part of this site was the book, Unix For the Beginning Mage. It received rave reviews and is still frequently downloaded. It has been used by people of all ages for, both, personal use and as official classroom material. A print edition of the book used to exist, but in 2008 I received notice that the master copy was no longer able to be used for print. A few other stories were also created: -Of Mages and Mail, Part 1
