Utah is a no-fault state, so when you are in a car accident in Utah it doesn't matter who is at fault for the accident you are guaranteed treatment that will be paid for by your auto insurance company with no penalty to you. If the other person is at fault, your company will recover the money they paid from the other company. Medical treatment, chiropractic treatment, and massage are all covered under what is called personal injury protection, or PIP for short. This is the medical coverage that covers you when you are in an auto accident, or any injury that involves your vehicle. For instance, if you are changing your oil and the vehicle falls on you this is covered under PIP! If you were on a skateboard and being pulled by a car and have a bad accident this is covered under PIP (we don't recommend doing this with your skateboard!). Something that is really important to know is that most people have the minimum amount of pip required by law which is $3,000. This amount was determined in the 1970's back when this covered quite a bit of treatment.
