On Saturday October 23rd, Urban Corps will plant 1,000 trees in San Diego County in ONE DAY-- we need your help to make the volunteer event a success! We are heading the San Diego contingent of the statewide Healthy CommuniTrees Day in which 4,000 trees will be planted in California in support of national "Make a Difference Day." Here's how you can get involved... VOLUNTEER: Bring kids, friends, family, neighbors and co-workers to volunteer at one of several planting sites. Volunteers will be shuttled from the kickoff event at Roosevelt Middle School (Corner of Park Blvd. and Zoo Dr.in Balboa Park) to planting sites at San Diego Unified Schools from 10 a.m.- noon. All volunteers will receive a 50% off discount coupon to the San Diego Zoo and/or Safari Park. SET UP AN EDUCATIONAL BOOTHGain visibility for your nature group/organization/ business by setting up an exhibit booth at the event site hub at the park opposite Roosevelt Middle School at the Corner of Park Blvd. and Zoo Dr. in San Diego from 8 a.m.- noon.
