For over 50 years the name Valley Slurry Seal Company has been synonymous with high quality asphalt emulsion applications. In 1978 VSS established its first emulsion plant in Redding under the name of "Morgan Emultech" and began to build it into the premier West Cost emulsion Company. Now with four plants in Oregon and California, VSS Emultech® combines the best in asphalt emulsion and application technology. In 2000 for the new century VSS changed the name of the premier emulsion company from Morgan Emultech® to VSS Emultech®. Different name, same great service and leading technology.

Slow set slurry may be made using CSS-1h or SS-1h. VSS Emultech® manufactures specialty slurry systems as well. These are termed quick set systems.

VSS Emultech® are manufacturers of a line of excellent dust suppression systems. The function of dust suppression is to a reduce dust for extensive periods of time. This saves on the use of water to dampen the pavement surface. VSS Emultech® have several systems for different applications. Lignosulphonate Treatments: Calcium lignosulphonate is a salt formed in the wood pulping process during paper making. In this process LIGNIN, a polysaccharide or complex sugar, is extracted from the wood. As lignin is the substance that holds wood fibers together.

VSS manufactures three basic types of chemically stabilized materials: Anionic Cationic Clay The last, clay, is the filled type and it's structure is rather different from the other two, they are mostly used for industrial applications such as roofing and underbody sealing and use an activated clay as the emulsifier system. They are essentially anionic emulsions. The other two categories get their name from the chemical type used to stabilize them.
