When Vulcan Threaded Rod was founded in 1978, the goal was simple: to provide fastener distributors in the South with threaded rod along with outstanding service at a competitive price. Over time, Vulcan grew to become a dominant player in the threaded rod market nationwide. It expanded into other fastener markets like anchor bolts, U-bolts, anchor assemblies, and single and double ends including all grades of carbon, stainless and B7.

Vulcan Steel Products is a manufacturer of pole line hardware for the power line industry. We manufacture Double Arming Bolts, also called D. A. Bolts, which are fully threaded studs with cone points (heavy chamfered ends) assembled with four (4) square nuts. Double Arming Bolts are used in double cross arm assemblies to lock in the spacing between the cross arms. The D.A. Bolt's ends can accept eyenuts for Deadend applications. Most D.A. Vulcan is the Nation's largest domestic manufacturer and supplier of threaded products including threaded rod, anchor bolts, u-bolt and specials. In 1978 Vulcan Threaded Products opened our original threaded rod operation in downtown Birmingham. Over the years we expanded our low carbon threaded rod capabilities into the largest and most extensive threaded rod line in the United States including B7 threaded rod and studs, A449 threaded rod and studs, stainless steel threaded rod and studs as well as capabilities to produce other grades per our customers request.

Vulcan Steel Products was incorporated in March of 1978 as the Vulcan Threaded Rod Company and began producing threaded rod in a limited variety of diameters. Vulcan's owners—Bill Upton, Bill Jenkins and Kent Upton—have stressed quality manufacturing, service and value from the very beginning. Vulcan began its operations by marketing their products primarily to smaller distributors. These distributors had been experiencing back orders of up to six months and were desperate for a supplier who could deliver within more reasonable time frames.

Vulcan Cold Finished is one of three divisions of Vulcan Steel Products. Our Cold Finished Division was founded in 1997 and in this short period of time has become known in the industry for their commitment to quality and customer service. Located in Pelham, Alabama Vulcan Cold Finished has one of the largest size ranges under one roof.
