Description

Validus is the only privately held company approved to conduct audits for the United Egg Producers (UEP) ; and their member companies. Validus auditors conduct the on-site audits according to UEP Animal Husbandry Guidelines for U.S. egg laying flocks, which includes both caged and cage-free production, of which they have been trained. Audits are based on each component of the guidelines listed on the UEP audit.

At the conclusion of an assessment, producers receive a report comparing the operation’s environmental management practices to the standards. If any challenges are identified, the producer will receive complete recommendations for meeting the performance standards.

Third party environmental and animal welfare auditing are two avenues to provide differentiation to producers looking to drive positive change – and increase transparency – with their food company and foodservice customers. This openness benefits everyone.
