About Veenstra & Kimm Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. was founded in 1961 as a partnership of Bob Veenstra and Jim Kimm for the practice of consulting engineering. The business was founded primarily to provide engineering services to cities throughout the state of Iowa. In 1966 the scope of our firm's activities was enlarged to include municipal planning and land use planning.

Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. provides services for the key areas of: - water supply - water treatment - water storage - water distribution. Recent projects for the planning and evaluation of water supply include our work with the City of Pella to identify a new water supply to supplement its existing supply, and our extensive evaluation of water supply sources for the West Des Moines Water Works.

Veenstra & Kimm, Inc.'s services go well beyond traditional engineering services to include a full range of evaluation, design and inspection services for coating systems. Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. is fully qualified to provide design and construction services for storage facilities with regulated levels of lead and chromium. Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. provides a full range of modeling and design services for new storage facilities.

Since the 1970s Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. has developed an excellent reputation for our work with wastewater facility planning for the wastewater conveyance and treatment needs of our client communities. Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. has worked on facility plans ranging from small Iowa communities to our work with rapidly growing Iowa communities. Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. is particularly known for our work in developing and implementing long range planning to accommodate future community growth.

Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. is widely known for its experience and expertise in sanitary sewer planning and design. Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. has completed over $150 million of sanitary sewer improvement projects since the mid-1980s. Our experience with sanitary sewer design ranges from 8-inch lateral sewers through 96 inch interceptor sewers. Our experience includes sewer ranging in depth to 47 feet. Our experience includes traditional sewer design and projects using pipe lining and directional boring procedures.
