Description
Where is Vermont Soy Tofu and Soymilk made? Vermont Soy Tofu and Soymilk is made in our building located in Hardwick Vermont. What different types of tofu and soymilk do you have? We currently produce firm-style Artisan Tofu made from Vermont-grown, organic, and non-gmo Soybeans. We produce four varities of Fresh Soymilk: Original, Vanilla, Chocolate, and Unsweetened. All flavors are available in 32oz bottles as well as five gallon containers for food service facilties. The Original, Vanilla, and Chocolate Fresh Soymilk are also available in 10oz grab and go sizes. For more information on our full line of products, please visit our Products page. What do you mean by "Fresh" Soymilk? Unlike most commerical Soymilk we do not use ultra-high temperature pasteurization (UHTP). Instead we gently flash pasteurize our Fresh Soymilk. This process allows the best flavor and the most nutrients to remain intact in our soymilk. This makes our soymilk taste closer to freshly homemade soymilk. Do you use local ingredients? Our tofu is made from 100% Vermont grown, organic, non-GMO soybeans. Our soymilk is sourced from as many local ingredients as possible.
Vermont Soy is growing, and we’re looking for a dynamic individual to take us to the next level. A production manager with experience in food production, sanitation and management of production staff is needed immediately. The production manager is critical to the successful growth of Vermont Soy. This is a demanding position that requires a dedicated individual capable of meeting production demands, creatively looking for ways to improve the process, working on new product development and maintaining a safe, clean and positive work environment. This is a hands-on position that will lead by doing. The Production Manager is responsible for all aspects of tofu and soymilk production, will supervise a crew to assist in production, packaging and shipping. The manager will ensure that the production facility meets the sales orders placed on a weekly basis. This will entail scheduling the production crew, pre-production set-up, post production cleaning, storage of produced products, packaging of products for distributor pickup and solid recordkeeping. A degree in food, production, manufacturing or relevant field is desired.
Where can I buy Vermont Soy products? Our website will help you find a location in the “where to buy” section. You can also call us: 802-472-8500 and we will be happy to help you find our products. Are the products gluten-free? Our tofu, soymilk, and loil cooking spray are all gluten-free. Do any of your products contain nuts or process anything containing nuts in your facility? No nuts or nut products are processed in our facility. Are Vermont Soy products kosher? No. We are not certified kosher as of yet. Can tofu be frozen? Tofu can be frozen, but the texture will change. When tofu is frozen it becomes more porous and can absorb marinades faster and more evenly. The texture of the tofu changes to a more chewy state; some people find this new texture pleasant and some do not. Is it ok to eat expired tofu or drink expired soymilk? If you purchased our product with the date already expired we recommend you return it unopened. If after you buy the tofu or soymilk the date goes out open, smell, and examine the product. Sourness, grittiness, and thickness for the soymilk are the indicators of a bad product. The tofu will taste sour.
