For more than 30 years, Versar has supported the states of Virginia, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware on a variety of different environmental projects. For example, we have supported the State of Maryland in the assessment of the ecological health and natural resources risk of the Chesapeake Bay. Versar continues to assess how the Delaware River (PA, NJ, and DE) is affected by dredging programs. We assist several counties in Maryland and Virginia with their watershed programs, identifying impaired watersheds and providing cost-effective solutions for their restoration programs.

Versar has the ecological expertise and real world experience to ensure the successful restoration of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. Our scientists work directly with our engineers to develop state-of-the-art stream, wetland, and reforestation designs in many watershed plans for local jurisdictions. We also provide species and habitat restoration plans such as the Barnegat Bay Ecosystem Restoration in New Jersey.

Versar has completed hundreds of Phase I and II ESAs for commercial clients. Oftentimes, we provide these services for a real estate portfolio that includes multiple ESAs performed simultaneously, or for a client with a substantial geographic presence that includes properties in different regions or states. Versar is staffed to complete ESAs under expedited turnaround times.

Versar marine scientists specialize in marine ecology and management and regularly conduct underwater missions via our scientific diving services. We provide these services to our clients under the auspices of the Versar Scientific Diving Program.
