How did a small town Georgia girl end up sharing the flavors of her family with the entire country? Well, it all started when founder Vera Stewart used to ride the Nancy Hanks train from Macon to Atlanta each summer to visit her grandmother, Vera Wingfield. There, she learned to bake the special cakes her grandmother had spent a lifetime perfecting. Years later, while running a small but successful catering business, those recipes would come in quite handy.
